Here you can find a general rule for determining your measures:

Place the measuring tape closely but not too tightly around the body part you would like to mea- sure. If you measure alone, try to measure several times to calculate an average. Otherwise, try to find help. Please keep in mind that children grow faster than adults. Thus, you should measure more often.
