HOW DO YOU CHOOSE THE RIGHT Tennis string?
TYPES OF STRINGS ON CONSTRUCTION / MATERIAL
How to choose the right tennis string? That is undoubtedly a difficult question. Not for nothing it says "the string is the engine of the racket"! To maintain the optimal performance of their chosen racket model, every tennis player should be aware that this can only be achieved through a set of racket, real tennis string, and custom stringing tuned for their individual play. Some tennis rackets are strung from the factory. This string is sufficient to test the racket. For a permanent play the bat should be strung again. The string ex-factory is in doubt for several months on the racket and had to withstand different storage conditions.

Below is some information about the different types of strings, how the combination of string, stringing hardness and string strength behaves and a corresponding club assignment. So you too can become a string expert in a few steps and find the setup optimized for your game. Advantage You!
Natural gut strings
Gut strings are made from the intestines of cows or sheep. They are still unsurpassed in terms of inherent elasticity, ball feel, tension constancy and comfort. Due to their inherent elasticity, they are able to optimally absorb the impact shock caused by the impact of the ball on the string bed, which in today's tennis is responsible for most of the so-called "arm problems"! Thus, gut strings are the non plus ultra in terms of playing comfort and arm protection!
Suitable for:
• Comfort racket 250-280 g
• Club / all-round racket 270-300 g
• Tournament racket 310-340 g

Assignment after surcharge movement:
• slow surcharge movement
• medium-fast surcharge movement
Multifilament
Multifilament strings are made of many individual fibers (microfilaments), which can be made of various materials, twisted and coated with a durable material. They are similar to gut strings by a high inherent elasticity and a very good voltage constancy. Due to their weather resistance and the usually cheaper price, multifilament strings are a good alternative for the comfort-oriented tennis player compared to gut strings.
Suitable for:
• Comfort racket 250-280 g
• Club / all-round racket 250-300 g

Assignment after surcharge movement:
• slow surcharge movement
• medium-fast surcharge movement
Nylon strings
Nylon strings consist of a monofilament single core of nylon, which has very good dynamic properties. The core is wrapped with various sheaths. Depending on the material and type of wrapping, the manufacturer influences the playing behavior and the tension constancy of the string. The nylon string is the classic all-round string and therefore the most commonly used string type. Due to the good voltage consistency and the attractive price-performance ratio, it is the perfect string for club and all-round players.
Suitable for:
• Club / all-round racket 250-300 g

Assignment after surcharge movement:
• slow surcharge movement
• medium-fast surcharge movement
• fast surcharge movement

Monofilament / polyester strings
Polyester strings consist of a single strand of polyester (monofilament). They have a much longer shelf life compared to multifilament and nylon strings (less string breaks). Due to the high rigidity of the material polyester, these strings have a very low inherent elasticity and give a very "crisp, controlled" feel.

The newer generation, the so-called co-polyester strings, have a somewhat higher intrinsic elasticity due to the addition of various additives such as carbon, metal components or PEEK.

What should be considered when choosing polyester strings is that this string type loses its dynamic tension very quickly due to its low inherent elasticity. Depending on the string model, they have a maximum playability of 5-6 hours.

Furthermore, as a result of the low dynamic surface tension of the string bed, a very fast impact movement, a good technique and a well-trained musculature are required, since a low dynamic surface tension only slightly absorbs the impact shock that occurs when the ball strikes the string bed. For this reason, polyester strings for children and adolescents are not recommended!
Suitable for:
• Tournament racket 310-340 g

Assignment after surcharge movement:
• fast surcharge movement
Hybrid strings
Hybrid strings are a combination of different longitudinal and transverse strings. So one tries to combine the advantages of several types of strings and their positive characteristics. The combination options themselves are almost unlimited.

A classic hybrid variant is a monofilament as a longitudinal string and a multifilament string as a cross string. Since the stronger movement of the longitudinal strings usually causes the string to break more frequently in the longitudinal strings, the durability of the longitudinal strings is increased with this variant. The use of a multifilament cross-string achieves more ball acceleration and better comfort compared to the use of a monofilament string as a longitudinal and transverse string. The loss of power is very high for hybrid strings. Above all, the tension depends on the temperature.
Suitable for:
• Club / all-round racket 270-300 g
• Tournament racket 310-340 g

Assignment after surcharge movement:
• medium-fast surcharge movement
• fast surcharge movement
